Event details

This exhibition showcases the history of Couldrey House and surrounding area through the lens of one of the most memorable days in a person’s life, their wedding day.

Whilst the ceremonies and traditions have changed remarkably over the past two centuries, the magic and wonder of the celebration of love remains constant.

In the fast pace of our lives today, take a moment to stop and appreciate the simple union of two people and be reminded of what is truly important.

On display are pictures and artefacts from weddings of past occupants and owners to celebrations held in the present day.

Discover the meanings behind several weird and wonderful wedding traditions, many still common today, and get a glimpse into the lives of the people that lived and loved at Couldrey House.
