Event details

Out of 140 holiday baches built on Rangitoto Island, just 34 remain.

Now recognised as historic, they form an irreplaceable aspect of our architectural and social history and are an example of now-disappearing DIY holiday homes.

Bach 38 was restored by volunteers from the Rangitoto Island Historic Conservation Trust and opened as a museum.

Catch the ferry to Rangitoto and join us at the museum bach by the wharf and visit a second bach recently restored by the trust. View displays and hear about people who lived, worked, and holidayed on Rangitoto.
