Event details

Geologist and author Bruce Hayward leads a narrated walk around the geoheritage features of Bucklands Beach and Musick Point.

He will introduce you to fossil shellfish that lived 5000 years ago, our past sea level which was about 1.5m higher than today, and the 20 million-year-old Waitematā Sandstone in the cliffs and foreshore and the cannonball concretions that grew within them.
