Event details

It has been 130 years since Elizabeth Yates controversially won the Onehunga mayoralty and was then subject to much outrage and protest from some quarters.

Onehunga Family History Society offers an hour-long talk about Captain Michael and Elizabeth Yates’ life at the Blockhouse, followed by an hour-long walk through Onehunga, highlighting places of interest in their past.

Presented by: Onehunga Fencible and Historical Society
