Event details

Howick has a fascinating history interlaced with peace, love and protest. First settled by Ngai Tai ki Tāmaki, the area later became home to one of Auckland’s Fencible communities sent by the British to defend Auckland city from an invasion that never came.

This two-hour walk starts at the World War I memorial on Stockade Hill and moves to picturesque Howick Village.

Walkers are invited to dress to celebrate our heritage.
