A free walking tour celebrating New Lynn’s clay and nationally important ceramic heritage with Te Toi Uku trustee Robyn Mason.
Starting at New Lynn War Memorial Library, the tour includes stories of a love of design, the opportunities of war and peace times, and the protests to preserve the potteries and brickworks industry and its remains.
Included is a visit to Auckland’s only remaining down-draught kiln and Te Toi Uku Crown Lynn & Clayworks Museum, built on the site of a brickyard.
