Details

Visit the historic St Stephen's Chapel in Judges Bay which was built in 1856.

An unparalleled example of timbered colonial architecture in the 'Selwyn style'.

Begin in the chapel itself, then walk amongst the graves and hear of notable Auckland colonists and characters including a former PM, a venerable diarist, the first chief justice, remarkable pioneering women and their earliest hospital and our first Māori priest.

Learn why the first chapel collapsed and why Mrs Outhwaite went to the Governor's ball in a wheelbarrow.

Proudly brought to you by Parnell Trust and Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Meet Warren Limbrick at St Stephen's Chapel.
