Don't miss this talk by local historian Lisa Truttman. Hear how Blockhouse Bay got its first public hall, the Picture Theatre on Donovan Street.

The theatre was later known as the Beverley in the 1940s, and as the Kosy from the 1950s, through to its end in the 1970s. Bring along your own memories of the little cinema that once was.

Lisa Truttman is President of the NZ History Federation, President of the Avondale-Waterview Historical Society, Vice-President of the Mount Roskill (Puketāpapa) Historical Society, Editor of Avondale Historical Journal and Point Chevalier Times, a member of the Blockhouse Bay, Point Chevalier, Mount Albert, Kinder House and Birkenhead Heritage Societies, and the Chinese NZ Oral History Foundation.

The event will be followed by tea and coffee until noon.
