"Before roads were constructed on land, there was the sea, the harbours, the estuaries and the rivers. Like early Māori before them, the new settlers used the same waterways as their highways" - God Willing and Weather Permitting by Malcom Hahn (2006).

Listen to talks on the heritage of transport and travel on Auckland's Upper Waitematā Harbour as you enjoy a ferry ride exploring our former "highways".

The ferry will depart from and return to Hobsonville Point, the former air force base.

While here, have a wander around the local farmers' market and the wharf's colourful story panels.

Food can be purchased at the farmers' market before or after your trip, or feel free to bring your own on board.
