A display on how travel has changed in Auckland and New Zealand, using Sir John Logan Campbell's lifetime and first-hand accounts, art works and photographs.
All images and narrative extracts are related to Sir John, while providing a wider context.
In his ‘Reminiscences’ – Sir John Logan Campbell writes extensively of travelling in Europe, the near East, Australia and Auckland.
It will offer insight into the realities of long journeys and the different conditions experienced today.
This display touches on the modes of transport used at Cornwall Park and Auckland over time.
This display will be based on ‘Reminiscences- of a Long Life’, by RCJ Stone, a book published to mark the bicentenary of Sir John Logan Campbell's birth this November 2017.
