Come along to our free concert featuring the premiere performance of Andromeda Overture by Eric Curtis.
This is the last known orchestral composition by the notorious composer and conductor, also known as Eric Mareo, completed the year before he died in 1960.
Mareo was at the centre of two trials, concerning a love triangle with his wife and her lover and exotic dancer, Freda Stark. Mareo changed his name to Curtis after release from jail in 1948.
The manuscript for Andromeda Overture has lain forgotten and unperformed for half a century. We are proud to bring to life in music the dramatic and tragic tale of beautiful Andromeda, and how she came to be placed among the stars.
