Come along to St Matthew-in-the-City and enjoy the church that has been taonga in Auckland City for 162 years.

We will be featuring:

• heritage architect Peter Reed talking about the current 1905 stone building


• organist Paul Chan performing short recitals on the rebuilt Willis Organ


• a bell-ringing display (one of only six of its kind in New Zealand) by St Matthew's Society of Bellringers


• a heritage window self-guided tour.

We will also have refreshments available for a gold coin donation to the Auckland City Mission.

The window tour previously offered has been restructured to be more suitable to children and families.

Performance, lecture, tours, and children's activities will be accessible to all. However, access to the bell tower will require climbing 54 spiral steps.

Visitors to the bell chamber must wear personal protection equipment, which will be provided to you.
