This exhibition shows photos of the construction of the Upper Huia Dam from 1926-1929.

Includes photos of:

  • the building of the Georges Creek Bridge

  • flood damage

  • accidents

  • day-to-day construction work

  • the finished dam.

The Upper Huia Dam opened on 7 December 1929.


The exhibition includes photos from the Clarry Mills Collection held at Auckland Libraries' West Auckland Research Centre.
