The Waterview Heritage Area spans Te Auaunga / Oakley Creek and is nestled beneath the Waterview Connection flyovers.

Contained within the Heritage Area Reserve are a basalt rock forest and quarries. There is also the site and remains of the 19th-century Star Flour Mills and the Garrett Brothers Star Tannery.

Archaeologists and historians recognise this unique area as being regionally significant.

Join heritage practitioners Robyn Mason and Peter McCurdy, who were the last to live on this land, for a tour of the heritage area and a taste of its extraordinary history.
