In association with Auckland University Press, Michael King Writers Centre launch a new book by acclaimed New Zealand writer and broadcaster Chris Bourke, Goodbye Maori-land, The Songs and Sounds of New Zealand's Great War.
The book tells of the transportation of New Zealand music across the world in the early 20th century.
The North Shore Brass Band will perform songs selected from this book plus some well known musical icons such as It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, Pokarekare Ana and concluding with Now is the Hour.
The performance is at The Vic Theatre, Victoria Street, Devonport and will be hosted by author Chris Bourke and musician Tim Finn.
