Since Auckland's beginning in 1840, engineering has been vital to its growth.

The Engineering New Zealand Heritage Auckland Chapter is offering guided walks to view noteworthy sites around the city. Many of the structures were major achievements at the time they were built, using ground-breaking techniques.

Learn about the innovative entrepreneurs and designers who built these structures, and their relevance to the people of Auckland.

Start

Meet beneath the America's Cup boat, Quay Street, and we will set out at 10am.

Walk A

Saturday 29 September, Sunday 7 and Saturday 13 October, 10am-12.30pm

Sites include the Tepid Baths, Sky Tower, Auckland Harbour Bridge and the Viaduct Basin.

Walk B

Sunday 30 September, Saturday 6 and Sunday 14 October, 10am-12.30pm

Sites include Britomart Transport Centre, Queen Street buildings, Albert Barracks Wall, Old Government House, and High Court.
