Event details

Fort Takapuna is the best-preserved of the historic Victorian coastal defences built to defend Auckland during the Russian War Scare in 1885.

Explore the underground gun positions and their barracks. You'll also learn about the scandal surrounding the purchase of the site, and local myths and legends.

What to bring:

You will need a torch to light your way through unlit tunnels.
