Event details

Papatoetoe has been home to people from a range of cultures for many years. You can see this diversity in their different religious beliefs, way of life and involvement in the local community.

To celebrate their contribution to the history and growth of Papatoetoe, this heritage walk takes in three significant churches and temples in Hunters Corner.

The route:

  • Start at St Johns Presbyterian Church (the first church in Papatoetoe) at 120 Great South Road
  • Head to the Kadampa Buddhist temple
  • Move on to the Gurudwara Sri Dasmesh Darbar (Sikh temple)
  • Return to St Johns.

You will have the chance to see inside each building.
