Event details

In 1893, English immigrant Henry Wilding co-founded The Society for the Protection of Women and Children. The aim was to discuss the plight of women and children, and to advocate for law changes to better protect the many vulnerable at the time. Concerned citizens joined in and lobbied for law changes. The result was laws that better protect all New Zealanders today.

Auckland life has radically changed since then and 125 years later, Home and Family Counselling as it is now known is New Zealand's second oldest charity, providing accessible services across Auckland.

Join us at this entertaining evening of light opera performed by The Shades, who bring an appreciation of classical music to today's audiences. Browse through memories of our past with visual displays. Wear fashion from your favourite era, and be in to win great prizes.
