Event details

Take a nostalgic trip on one of the Red Boats, with the families and whānau of the original bach owners.

They will introduce you to the unique history and stories, passed down through the generations who have enjoyed life and holidays at Islington Bay on Rangitoto Island.

On arrival you will be met and invited to visit the baches, have a cuppa and look around. You are most welcome to stay put in the comfort of any of the baches, spending time with the whānau, looking at the memorabilia and hearing about the history of the community.

Or you might like to join one of the guided walks, which take you to the site of the shipwrecks or to the military sites dating from the Second World War.
