Event details

Join a presentation on the journeys of Auckland’s last steam ferry and her people. A tour of the restoration work follows.

The Toroa was a commuter service on the Waitematā Harbour and made excursions to the Hauraki Gulf and upper harbour.

It carried 70 million passengers over 55 years with a variety of experiences along the way.

Hear the stories of owners, builders, skippers, crew, engineers, stokers and passengers.

Closed footwear must be worn. Access to the ferry is by steep stairs. Children must be supervised by adults.
