Event details

Learn about some 19th century crafts and skills practiced by early settlers of Tāmaki Makaurau. You can try sewing, knitting, quilting, spinning, weaving, and embroidery.

Early settlers often arrived with little, and to very basic living conditions. Resources were very limited, self reliance was a reality, and they soon learnt how to stretch a little a long way

The day is being run with the support of the Warkworth Museum and in conjunction with local craft groups.

This educational and hands-on day is suitable for all ages.
