Event details

Discover the first food sources introduced to Aotearoa by Māori in 1350AD and Captain Cook in 1769.

Māori brought dogs and rats, while Cook brought the first kunekune pig and potatoes as food sources.

Geese, cows, hens, goats and horses arrived with later European settlers, improving the lives and diets of everyone.
