Event details

Geologist and author Bruce Hayward will lead this 2 km walk along part of the rocky Takapuna to Milford coastal walkway.

This is the best New Zealand example of a fossil forest preserved by a passing lava flow.

The flow is from the Lake Pupuke Volcano eruption about 190,000 years ago.
