Event details

We showcase Robert Graham's enormous role as a distinguished early Auckland pioneer. He was the first Pākehā landowner of Waiwera and Wenderholm and a local politician, who initiated many beneficial public works. His entrepreneurial and hospitable influence at Waiwera and around Auckland will astound you.

Heroic by nature and visionary in his approach to life, Graham survived shipwrecks, saved lives, resolved conflicts, and forged economic success time and again. The home he built for his family beneath the cliffs at Wenderholm is Couldrey House today.

Wander the rooms he inhabited, view rarely displayed objects and discover the stories of one of Auckland’s most influential forefathers.
