Event details

Join us for a seminar about the life and work of renowned New Zealand artist Evelyn Page (1899-1988). Evelyn expressed herself in a range of landscapes, portraits, still lifes and nudes and was a founding member of a group of Canterbury ground-breaking artists known simply as The Group. With a career spanning seven decades, she became the first artist to hold the Governor-General's Art Award and was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to art. Julia Waite is curator of New Zealand Art at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and has a strong knowledge of the period in which Page worked. She will deliver an overview of her life and works and answer any questions you may have.

Refreshments will be provided.
