Auckland Heritage Festival 2017

From waterways to motorways: the heritage of transport and travel in Tāmaki Makaurau

From 30 September to 15 October

This spring, hit the streets and waterways to discover the stories and secrets of Auckland's heritage. This year’s programme features some unmissable new events, with many celebrating the 2017 festival theme ‘From waterways to motorways: the heritage of transport and travel in Tāmaki Makaurau'.

You can jump on a ferry tour and trace a daring WWI escape or explore Upper Waitematā Harbour’s former 'waterway highways'. Join a heritage walking or bike tour, watch experts debate our heritage protection, or take the family for a Victorian packed lunch, and much more.

Grab your friends, colleagues or whānau and take another look at the Auckland we normally go past.
