Details

On Wednesday 4 October 2017, join the Dean of Education and Social Work and colleagues in commemorating the life and achievements of Lieutenant Herbert Milnes, the first dean of what is now the Faculty of Education and Social Work.

Lieutenant Milnes fought in WWI and was killed in action at the Battle of Passchendaele 100 years ago on 4 October 1917.

The event will include a tribute to Bert’s memory and educational achievements, and a comment on the battle that ended his life from Iain McKenzie from the Passchendaele Society.
