Event details

Take a guided tour of the historic coastal defences on North Head.

You'll learn about the military threats to New Zealand that led to the emplacement of the defences. Then explore the gun positions and tunnels, while listening to the myths and legends that surround the site.

What you need to know:

  • Please bring a torch to light your way through the unlit tunnels
  • The walk involves a climb to reach the gun positions on the summit of North Head.
