Event details

There is more to Ponsonby's history than cappuccinos. Join food writer André Taber and chef and local food-lover Lisa Loveday on this guided tour and discover some of the food from migrants from all over the world who made the suburb what it is today.

From Chinese fruiterers, Dalmatian fishmongers and Canadian coffee roasters to English shopkeepers and chefs, they started feeding the vibrant working-class and immigrant community and turned the Strip into the premium restaurant destination it is today. The treasured heritage buildings of Three Lamps hosted fascinating food businesses.

Includes afternoon tea at Dida's Wine Lounge.
